Lifehacker posted a neat tutorial which turns iPod touch into a semi- iPhone. It really works, but does not replace the convenience of the iPhone. Here is a short version of the tutorial:

 Jailbreak your iPod touch
Install SIP-Voip
Setup a SIP account (Free Call or another service)
Configure SIP-Voip to make calls
Setup inbound number
